Another World: Guardian's Ascension - Cinna Blakewood

--Synn/ Cinna Blakewood--

---- 18 Seconds Before Death ----

“We’ll still be comrades, next lifetime!” Angel looked at her team.

“What does it matter if we die? 18 years and we’ll be here again.” Synn said calmly, but then, death doesn’t scare them. Not when their lives had been on put the line as soon as they joined The Organisation.

“Until next time, team!” Phoenix grinned at the rest of team 19.

“If there is a next time…” Zombi shrugged.

“Shut up, Zombi!” Everyone turned to the engineer on the team, and yelled simultaneously.

“Call me Shawn.” And with that, the bomb that was meant to end their lives, exploded.

---- Synn’s POV ----

I woke, and decided to keep my eyes closed, years of experience told me that the people around me are not exactly friendly.

Memories flooded back to me all of a sudden. I was supposed to be dead, yet I wasn’t, even with my eyes closed I knew that I was not in the world in which I was killed. This isn’t the same body either, I felt that. Somehow, my soul and mind had taken control of this girl, and Synn, the Saladite that had once taken countless lives, is back.

“Well, now that she’s dead, we are the next ones in line for the head of the family.” A boy laughed.

“But… If father finds out…” A girl, Synn guessed around 8, said worriedly.

“That old bastard? If he finds out, eh? What would he do if he finds out? Nothing! Because he can’t! If he kills us, then there will be no one to take over the family and the Blakewood family will fall apart. He won’t dare to take that risk.” The same boy said arrogantly.

“What will you do with Cinna’s body then?” The girl asked.

So this body’s original owner’s name was Cinna, that’s good, it’s the same as my name. Not that stupid code name, Synn, at least.

“Set this room on fire, it isn’t connected to the rest of the house anyways. And by the time someone spots the fire it’ll be far too late. Liana, listen, I need you to ask father if he can take you out of town. And make sure he says yes. That way most of the servants and guards around will be going with you and father, so there’s no one to tell him about Cinna. When he comes back, her body will be long gone.” The boy whispered to his younger sister, Liana was it?

“But if father asks about you, Ivo, what should I tell him?” Liana asked.

“I am going to try to pass the barrier from Red to Orange.” He answered, sounding frustrated, wanting to put the plan to action before anyone finds the body, which now contained another’s soul and mind, but naturally the two didn’t know that.

The two turned and left the room, I kept my eyes closed just incase one of them decided to come back and check on the “dead body”. Sure enough, within minutes Ivo came back, and kicked open the door, laughing maniacally.

“From today on, this family’s heir is me! I wonder what father was thinking anyways, giving the position to person who is insane, how is she supposed to run a family?” The boys muttered to himself.

So I was insane, supposedly. I wonder why… But before I could think anymore of the matter, I heard something hit the floor, heat and smoke filling the room.

“Well, enjoy your funeral, sister.” He sneered before leaving the room, letting the fire burn.

I finally opened my eyes, and was greeted with the sight of a ceiling beam, on fire and falling down on me.

Well, that’s charming.

I roll off the bed of which I have been lying on ever since I woke, and darted through the fire to the back door. I cannot risk going out the front in fear of being seen. My thoughts racing at a thousand miles an hour.

Where am I? What happened to the body’s original owner? What happened to the rest of team 19? Are they here too? Why would they kill her? Why was she insane?

The questions flooded my mind as soon as I made it out the door into the forest. I felt something tug at my mind, pleading me to let it in.

I did, and everything turned black.

When I opened my eyes again my head was throbbing with all the new memories, or were they old? Whatever, new to me anyways. They were Cinna Blakewood’s memories, from when she was born, until she died, by the hand of her younger brother.

This place, wherever this is, is called Isles of the Sky. Technology doesn’t exist here, magic and power rules this place. I am now twelve years old, I’m going to be sent off to school in a few days, and my family, the Blakewoods, are one of the three most powerful families in this country, Winterash. As the future heir of the family I started training as at 6, and is now a Gold.

The noise of rustling leaves pulled me from my thoughts, snapping back into reality, I hid, shadows from the trees concealing my position.

A man, I would say around the age of 19, walked into the clearing and sat down on the log barely 5 meters away from where I was hiding. I calmed myself as much as I could and slowed my heartbeats as much as possible, not wanting whoever it is to notice me.

“You know, you can come out, it’s not like I am so bored that I’ll be willing to kill anyone that gets in my way.” He said, amused.

I decided to wait a few minutes, just in case he was speaking to someone else, even though the chances were slim, I still didn’t want to expose myself just like that.

Nope, definitely talking to me, damn it.

Jumping off the tree branch I was hiding on, I land before the man and turn to face him. “What do you want. I don’t have money, or anything good for that matter, although I do have a head right here on this neck if you would like to take it.” I say in a cold voice, but he seems unaffected by it.

“Well, aren’t you an interesting one, and just for that, I will give you a gift.” He grinned.,

“Why?.” I ask, still not letting down my guard.

“Because I find you rather interesting, that good enough?” He lookeds at me, and saiyds in a calm voice. I decide that he is safe, well, he won’t try to kill me, I can tell that much. “Show me your hand.” He commands, and I do as he says, extending my right hand toward him.

‘“What branch are you taking?” He asks.

“Melee, Duelist.” I reply, confused by the question.

“Hmm, that’s a shame, you would’ve made a good Archer, or Bard. Oh well, Duelist is one of your better choices too. “ He say, slipping a ring onto my index finger. “This is a storage ring, more space is unlocked as you progress in training. I’ve left some gold, and a couple items that you can probably use.”

I stare at the ring, “How do I activate this thing?” I ask, while searching through the memories.

“A drop of your blood on the gem, and it will bind itself to you. Then you can pull out or put in any item you want.” He say, “I must leave now, goodbye, I hope to see you at the academy.”

“Goodbye.”

Little did I know, this “gift” contained the beginning to the rest of my life.

Well, that's it for me. Shawn, Az, and Clash will post their introductory chapters when they see the time as fit.

Hope that wasn't too confusing, bai~
