Null and Void
Wrote this little poem for my writing class tomorrow.
Enjoy!
Woe, alas, alack is me,
The warning label I did not see.
When I scratched this card,
My heart it pumped hard.
Jackpot prize it declared,
As I just sat there and stared.
I jumped with joy at my win,
And hurried to cash it in.
I handed over the winning card,
The cashier looked at me with disregard.
Then pointed out to my dismay,
That I had scratched something that was not part of play.
I had uncovered the code and was much annoyed,
That it had made it all null and void.
