Since I have little to do this weekend I just Figured to do something on Saladlove. Here's a science fiction that I made up...
Prologue
Looking at the planet, Michael listed the things he saw. He could see the jungles and swamps that infested the lands, he could see the small oceans that appeared to be more of giant lakes, near the equator there were few desserts and to the north and south there were some polar ice caps; but the planet was one thing, a jungle, a swamp. Michael saw the value that could arise from such a place: the creature biology, the medicine in the plants, the air, the food, weapons for war, this was a planet that had natural resources, no terraforming required, the first planet the Battalion had found with a natural ecosystem in this galaxy!
But at what cost, wondered Michael, at what cost would it take to colonize. He could envision it now, the sweat, the money, the deaths. These swamps and jungles had thousands, if not, Millions of dangerous lifeforms, 6,378 have been recorded. Michael knew his men could not take this planet themselves. The plan was that another ship, the Azantrai, would come in two years to help with any problems on the planet that arouse at first attempt to colonize it.
But Michael could see the casualties of this operation, the money wasted in pointless effort, and the struggle that could follow afterwards. Nonetheless, he had his orders and was ready to start. His mission was to colonize the planet N/XI: Braistir.
"Lieutenant Peters," Michael spoke, "waken the men."
