So here's a thing I did in like an hour and a half by accident. So I can't guarantee top quality. But if it becomes big, I might make it a little higher priority than most things.
A brief history of the world as according to the lore of the story! Woo!
Long ago, before time and space existed, there were 3 masks. The masks seemingly the only thing to exist, stuck in lifeless loneliness suddenly were gifted with life. The masks lived, but had nowhere to call their own. The smallest of the masks, Xenot, sacrificed itself and created the universe. He existed through the void, his very spirit becoming the planets and stars we know today. The other two masks were now bored. Though their home was a paradise, nothing would happen in their new world. So the middle mask, named Sabaton split its being from its mask, destroying its soul while freeing the mask to space and starting time to be enjoyed. The last mask was lonely now, for it had neither of its original companions. Without thinking, the last mask, Neotosi if you will, destroyed its being and brought life to the world. Over eons, the life that Neotosi had created had developed into intelligent man and woman. Xenot, though his mask gone but his spirit still inhabiting the universe was forced to watch as his dear companion's gift was spoiled on greed and envy. Xenot had found the remnants of the mask Sabaton throughout the universe and brought it together, inhabiting the mask. Xenot had pushed its way to Earth, the very planet we live on and lied in waiting. Eventually, someone found himself the fool and put Xenot on. Xenot immediately consumed their mind, taking over their body as his own. Xenot who now found himself in human form proceeded to rampage through out the Earth in vengeance of the loss of his companions for such a petty cause.
Xenot had come to enslave humanity, laughing at the pitiful excuse of life, holding himself as the high ruler of the universe. He had ordered two masks be forged, one the mask of Neotosi, the other his own mask. The man that had been given this task was Syrus Helx. Syrus had done as he was commanded and in return, was permitted the freedom to pursue his love of crafts and a wife and family. He did so happily, forging weapons for the ruler of the universe and taking a wife named Helena, having a son named Drash with her. As Syrus enjoyed his life, Xenot toiled to bring his companions back to the universe, trying all sorts of magic. Eventually, as Drash was enjoying his first day of true adulthood, Xenot also had something to enjoy. His companions came to life in the glory they once were held in. Xenot gave Sabaton his mask back, taking his old mask and taking a brave warrior who dared defy the court as his vessel. Neotosi, jealous of Helena's beauty took her body as her own. Syrus, now much too old to fight took his own life, both deaths without Drash's knowledge. He came home that night to the horror of his father's dead body and his mother missing. He grew enraged and took a measly iron sword from his father's Smithy, making his way to the castle in which the newly established Jury as they prefered to be called, dwelled.
Drash, no fool marched into the courtroom and respectfully bowed to his overlords. He called out to the defender of Neotosi, the thief of his mother's body to face him in battle. If Drash was to win, Sabaton was to be no more and to relinquish his sword to Drash, if Sabaton was to defeat Drash, Drash's fate was his to decide. They engaged in epic combat, Drash's lowly sword of iron barely able to hold its strength under the force of the masterful sword his father had made. Drash with little practice in combat did not have very high hopes, only hoping to strike fear in the hearts of the Jury that humanity wasn't just their toy. After a battle that lasted two long and hard days, Sabaton made a fatal mistake, turning his back to Drash and bowing to Neotosi, thinking he had won. Drash seized the opportunity, jumping upon Sabaton's back and plunging the iron sword through his head. The mask of Sabaton shattered to pieces, unleashing a burst of energy in the room. Drash quickly grabbed his sword, the last sword of master quality his father had made and bolted from the castle as the other two members of the Jury sat awestruck at the sight before them. Drash was not seen for three years by the Jury despite their hunts for him. He was off with a hidden band of warriors, training to overthrow the Jury to the best of his abilities.
Three years after the death of Sabaton, Drash emerged to the world anew. A well trained individual prepared for combat. Drash found in his training a new art, the art of Skill, or as we call it now, magic. Drash made his way through villages and cities, freeing the citizens from the Jury's tyrannical reign while gaining his own following and in turn, an army that rivaled the Jury's own forces. Drash marched on the Royal Castle, laying waste to the castle. While he had not managed to get to Neotosi or Xenot, he had managed to conquer their land and become the new king. He ruled well, always on the look out for Neotosi and Xenot, ordering no masks in his lands for fear of Xenot and Neotosi finding a way to sneak in and ravage the lands. As time passed, he was no longer a young warrior but an aging king. That's when Neotosi had decided her time to strike was best. Neotosi lured Drash into an open field before revealing herself, pulling a sword that matched her own and charged at Drash, expecting his skill to of withered with age. She was sorely mistaken. She approached quickly, only to be met with a whirlwind encircling her. She immediately started to beg with Drash for forgiveness, knowing that the strength of skill is not to be trifled with. Despite being one of the cosmics, Neotosi was inside a human vessel, unable to use her being's immense strength. Drash showing no mercy struck her with a bolt of lightning that shook the Earth, leaving her barely alive. She died within that night after Drash removed the mask, shattering it in his hand. Xenot was never seen again within Drash's lifetime.
Drash begat a dynasty of great kings. Of course, you already know that little one. You are the ninth generation heir to the kingdom, so you should anyways. Drash used his powerful mastery over Skill to shape the world as he saw fit, mountains and valleys, deserts and oceans, jungles and islands all were placed where Drash saw fit. He passed down his gift of skill among his family bloodline, the only known bloodline with skill to run along with it. But I'd bet you're wondering about Xenot. Well little Azrael Your great grandmother, Taige was the solution to that problem. When she took throne, a mysterious guest attended her coronation. The guest's clothes were so out of date, everyone had thought he must've lived within the times of Drash. He had. The guest removed his disguise in a flourish, revealing that he was indeed the terror known as Xenot. Taige was quick and seized her bow, taking aim at Xenot's mask and releasing. The arrow was deadly accurate, unfortunately, Xenot moved with speed that made lightning look sluggish, grabbing the arrow just before making contact with his mask, shattering it. He used great amounts of Skill and bound everyone but Taige to their positions, forcing them to dance. He offered your Great Grandmother his hand and cautiously. Knowing she had little options, she took it and danced with him, uttering a long line of curses upon him as he laughed. She broke away from him and challenged him to combat. Xenot proving to be a survivor declined and fled the celebration, leaving all confused. Taige was not pleased.
Taige chased Xenot for years, only finding confusion and a cold fire at every stop. By the time Taige had discovered how to reach Xenot and end him forever, she already had two children. The your grandfather and his sister Ivory. Taige had met with an oracle who had told her how to take Xenot to the end of his time. The oracle told Taige what she had to do to get to Xenot. Sacrifice one of her children to open the void and summon the cosmics left in the universe. She thought long about this prospect. Xenot was a menace to the universe but she loved her children. Surely she could not take the life of one of her children. Surely. Wrong. Ivory found herself put under blade one night as her mother kissed her forehead weeping. As Ivory's blood flowed, the walls warped, time freezing and life stopping. Taige and Xenot found themselves thrown to a floating island in front of the void. In their state of confusion, they had time to prepare themselves. They fought for years though according to time, it was an instant. Taige had thrown Xenot to the void, though his mask was not destroyed, falling to Taige's feet as she watched. His voice supposedly called to her, asking her to wear it, begging, enticing. She had given in to the mask, only for a second. But that second was long enough to corrupt her soul completely, giving her only moments to free the world of Xenot's corrupted influence for good. She flung herself into the void, disappearing completely. Your grandfather was left to rule at the age of Twelve.
Your Grandfather ruled well little Azrael and your mother rules just as well, you are far too young to take power now, but think. What will you do with your life? Will you become a great hero like Drash? A sorrowful savior like Taige? Willing to sacrifice everything you hold dear for your people or will you rule with an iron fist? What will you make of your life? Will you have a journey? What is your destiny today?
