Well here is chapter 2, lets get some stuff happening! sort of... I am adding some familiar names in this and will introduce you to the characters that you'll be following.
Chapter II: Crew
Francis walked into the cafeteria. It was a grey room, bubble shaped, (a precaution in case the artificial gravity wasn't on), and had two long windows on the end in which planet could be seen. The room was full of half awaken crew members, all struggling to comprehend how to walk and talk. Francis tumbled to a table where he saw seemingly familiar faces. It was very quiet, with the exception of a few unclear, tired yells, and mumbles that no one understood.
A few pre-awaken crew members served the rest of the crew food. Francis looked at the plate he was given and at first didn't understand what he was given. As memory returned he realized he was given a Tortor, a Ham, some rice, and raspberry Loomb.
Tortors were delicious worms that were commonly eaten across the Human Companies. They were discovered by the Tutur Company on a planet in the Milky-Way. A few terraformed farming colonies raised Tortors for the Colonists of the Livinchi Galaxy. Loomb was an artificial drink for 99th Battalion troops. Tasty and energizing, Loomb gave complete benefit of the Tutur Company in the 4th Galactic War against the Sunic Company. Since then it has been a law bound regulation to serve military troops Loomb in all of the major companies.
Francis was appealed by this and ate his food quickly. He remembered the names of the people he was sitting next to. To Francis' left was the Phoenix Squadron, named and commanded by Sergeant Clash. With him was Ratt, Alice, and Shawn. They were well remembered because they painted their armor to show a fiery bird stretched across their breastplates. Clash himself had three Sashonet tentacles that he kept as war trophies. When he geared up, he always tied them around his left arm.
To Francis' right was Squadron 66, which was lead by Lieutenant Sollux and contained Goose, Scott, and Cinna. The squadron was pretty casual with the exception of Sollux, who no one messed with. Sollux would always be the Alpha of the group unless someone of top rank was there. He would always punch Scott in the face if he every got annoyed, which was almost always with Scott.
Francis couldn't speak clearly at first but as his understanding of the Americo Language came back to him he could make out some of the speech. He listened to Clash as he explained the mission to his squadron to boost their memory.
"So we are her' to colonie N/XI, alzo know a' Braisher, Brasher... Braistir!" Clash started, his Americo speech was evidently still coming back to him, "'e are her' to se' u an area for the colon... colony, defense it, and start da firs' terrafoamin' phase of i'."
Barely understanding Clash's current speaking Francis looked towards Squadron 66 to see Sollux punching Scott in the face like usual. Sollux probably had no idea what Scott was saying, but knowing Scott Francis assumed that he just talked anyway.
Francis decided to wait for everyone's speech to improve before engaging in conversation. He cleaned up his food and went to the Gym to stretch his tightened muscles. Francis stumbled to the Gym, a large room where he noticed nearly a hundred crew members were hanging out. Some had already taken off their stasis suits and changed into light gym wear. Francis didn't think he had the strength yet to even do that and decided to simply stretch out.
As faces became familiar he remembered Luke who was playing basketball with some other crew members including Sharpie and AJ. Francis also noticed Zaroc, also known as AZ, who was as usual getting punched in the stomach and kicked in the knee. No one understood AZ, If he spoke perfect Americo no one understood him, not even the scientists. He just cared about things no one else cared about and people hated him for his bad social skills. Francis then saw one member of his own squad, squad 39, approaching. It was Doug, a friend of Francis' and they got along fine.
Francis didn't talk to anyone and did long stretches, but only the ones he could remember. A few hours passed when suddenly the Blue Lights went on, which meant that the Captain was summoning the crew. Francis went and the gym emptied to the main Auditorium where they would be briefed by Captain Michael.

Some Backround
Date: 2014-10-15 11:16 pm (UTC)There are three major "Human Companies", these are the Americo, the Sunic, and Tutur Companies. The Sunic is militarized and more aggressive then the other two, not by a lot, just more; the Tutur are the most advanced, and richest, constantly discovering new technologies and are a famously known for bringing Earth "back to life", (the Sun burned out, no one lived on earth, Millennia past, Tutur moved earth and re terraformed it.); Last are the Americo who are the primary explorers of the Livinchi Galaxy, also the creators and investors of the 99th Battalion.

Good luck in your writing my sir. (Also, you spelled sergeant wrong.)
