Continuation of Elem’s story. Learn a bit of the universe in this chapter. Hope you enjoy!

Elem and Seven entered the nearby blood bank. The blood banks were the brightest rooms on the ship. The walls, floor, and ceiling eluded a green glow as the blood collectors from around the ship pumped blood into it. The blood was stored in violet containers that were organized upon the wall.

Elem saw only two other ship mates there. One was taking his treatment at a container. He looked as if he was of the Mor’la house by his deep, thin grey hair. Elem didn’t know him.

There other was sitting down in the corner. Elem knew her, she was an anti-social Saivar, and preferred to spent time alone. Her name was Miline. She was of Elem’s house, house Kiear. You could tell by her hair, appearing black with little light, but under direct light you could barely see an abyss like violet or crimson coloring in it. All Kiear possessed this coloring, including Elem.

Elem walked to a container which marked her blood type. It was shaped like a rhombus-based pyramid vertically on the side of the wall. It color eluded a crimson that was delightful to Elem’s eyes. As Elem approached it her mind seemed to harden inside her head, as a seeming brain hunger consumed her thoughts.

Elem placed her arm next to a needle beside the container. Her brain hungered more as she came closer and closer to receiving the blood. Placing her vein next to the needle, she struck it in. The blood of the Saivar rushed in as her brain screamed with joy as the blood flowed through her veins.

Seven watched and waited for her to finish her dose. When she turned around she seemed to be brighter than a star in her satisfaction. She smiled happily and Seven noticed her eyes, which were naturally red, glowed violet with sense. “How does it feel?” asked Seven.

“You have no idea Seven,” Elem responded, “You have no idea of the sixth sense.” Elem smiled and gave a little giggle. “It feels wonderful; I can sense everyone around me.”

“It does grieve me that we Vai cannot possess the ‘sixth sense’, yet it is understandable to why the Saivar never allowed us to.”

“I didn’t understand why. Your race seems reliable enough,” said Elem, seeming to recover herself from the satisfaction.

“Well consider this,” Seven started, “The Saivar created the first of the Vai to serve their public ‘needs’. We have little use of senses then. We had all that required us to aid the populace.”

“Well that makes sense, a sixth sense could cause issues with crime or what not,” Elem said, “but why can’t the Vai use the sixth sense now? Aren’t you life?”

“After generations of my race, the Saivar experimented to try and turn our little work force into what they wished to conceive as life. My race was… say… ‘perfected’… over generations of gene splicing, experiments, and failures. The reason why we can’t use the sixth sense is because the Saivar fear that if say we become ‘life’ then we would have some sort of free will. If there ever was a war between the Saivar and the Vai due to this free will, then the Saivar could have an advantage over the Vai with their sixth sense.”

At this point Miline cut into the conversation, “I’ve read a few… things about the other races. It seems that if other races have our blood placed into their blood stream, then they could potentially gain our sixth sense.”

“Nonsense!” teased Elem, “I’ve heard about some trading between the Alliance and the new race of humans. Heard that a human government; I don’t know what they call it… some company, house, party or of the sorts; Anyway I heard that this group accepts Saivar blood from the Alliance. All just tale, made up rumors. Now I would not be too surprised if there is an establishment of humans that trade with the Alliance, but trading for Saivar blood? I don’t see a resource that the humans possess that could be able to trade for something as valuable as the blood of our people.”

“So wait, are you saying that the Alliance could have our blood in their own banks?” Miline asked.

“You said that perhaps other races could possess our sixth sense, and I wouldn’t doubt it for the Alliance. The Cacm and the Faizar both evolved on our planet, so maybe they could find a way to possess Fiah in their genes, but the humans? They evolved on a completely different world. How could they be able to possess our power of the Fiah.”

Elem ended the conversation there as the rest of the ship’s crew began to pour in with large numbers. It appeared that most of the crew was awakened. Elem, Miline, and Seven parted from the room. Miline parted from them after leaving the room. Seven soon parted as well to his chamber.

Elem proceeded to enter her room. She lay upon the bed there and began to play around with her mind until she slept. She could sense the Saivar and Vai that walked down the hallway. She could not see them, but knew everything about how they looked just by using her brain. The room was still dark with the exception of the door activation. Elem played with her brain some more, creating sparks in her hands and trying to have the sparks reach from her hand to her toes.

She eventually fell asleep. She slept happily, for she had dreams. In stasis, which she had been it for so long, she had no dreams.
