Cards in the Black Market

It was Tuesday evening, and after a long day of work, 4 members from the black market sat around to play cards around an old circular wooden table. Most of the area was lit up by a lantern hanging from a rope above the table, casting creping shadows along the walls as the group played.

A purple-eyed player leaned back on her chair Her set was almost complete. "Hey, Tanadin. Got any 8's?"

"Nope. Go fish."

With a sigh, Gali picked up a card from the pile in the middle of the table. It was a nine. She sighed, and put it in her deck."

M sat straight up, holding the cards in a way that they appeared to be almost floating. 'Gali, do you have any 6's?"

"Nope, Go fish!"

"Yes you do."

Gali's eyes widened. "How did you know that?"

M shrugged. "I have my ways."

Gali begrudgingly gave M her 2 6's, which he took to make his set of four.

"Your turn, Scott."

Scott smiled. "Hey, Sub, got any 4's?"

"I predicted you would say that!" Sub exclaimed proudly, handing Scott her four card. Scott smiled, placed down three 4's and...

a strange looking card, crudely drawn in pencil, with his face on it and several random numbers.

Tanadin sighed, cradling her head in her hands. "I don't think I want to know, but... Scott, what is that?"

Scott grinned. "It's a Scooter Card! It counts for every card. Therefore, I win." He said, extremely proud of himself.

Tanadin banged her head on the table as Scott and Sub laughed.

"M, are you going to do anything about this?"

M shook his head. "Not like it matters. Gali's got a deck of cards in her back pocket. She's been drawing cards from it all game."

Gali stood up abruptly. "How did you KNOW THAT?"

"I have my ways."

And then the scooter card came to life and possessed the author.
