Was having such a hard time finding inspiration over the past few weeks to write something for my class tomorrow on 'First Impressions', then just a few minutes ago this little poem popped into my head.
Got to make a good impression
The first must be the best
Make sure my fur is flat, not a nest
The barking starts
Here they come
People to give us homes
Mustn’t be too loud but just enough to draw the eye
Too much and I’ll be thought too gruff
Too little and it won’t be enough
One by one they pass me by
‘Too old’ ‘Too scruffy’
I lay and give a little huff
Maybe tomorrow
Someone will care enough
To look past all my scruff
Got to make a good impression
The first must be the best
Make sure my fur is flat, not a nest
The barking starts
Here they come
People to give us homes
Mustn’t be too loud but just enough to draw the eye
Too much and I’ll be thought too gruff
Too little and it won’t be enough
One by one they pass me by
‘Too old’ ‘Too scruffy’
I lay and give a little huff
Maybe tomorrow
Someone will care enough
To look past all my scruff
