Character Submissions
Jun. 2nd, 2017 10:08 amI decided it'd be fun for everyone who wants to to create a character for a one-off story I might write. More under the cut.
So basically I'm a bit bored, and figured I'd just write some small one-off story about a group of adventurers. It'll take place in a medieval time, plenty of magic and evils roam the world, think something similar to Dungeons 'N Dragons. The character you submit must fit into one of the following four roles:
Knight: Tanky, uses a great sword, values justice and chivalry.
Ranger: Swift and strategically inclined, uses a bow and arrows as well as a dagger for close combat. Values support and balance.
Bard: A magical musician who uses 1 instrument of their choice to cast spells. Values support and health.
Wizard: A magic user with wide variety over spells. Values offensive strikes and knowledge.
I'll only accept four characters, one from each role. So if you see that there's three wizards and no rangers, it'd probably be wise to create a ranger.
Use the notes as a general guideline for your character, but for the most part you can go nuts and do whatever you want. I only ask that your character be humanoid and you don't try to make them ridiculously overpowered.
As for what I want, feel free to give me as much or as little as you like. Here's an example.
Elise Olivier is a young female ranger, appearing to be in her early 20's. She comes from a small fishing village off of the west coast, her father was a fisherman and her mother owned a bakery. At a young age a plague came over the town and both of her parents died, however she was spared. Moving in with her Uncle Jerich, a huntsman, she was trained to with the bow. Now skilled, she has began adventuring away from home in an attempt to find herself. Elise is very quiet and calculated, although she has a love for people she finds it difficult to open up to them. Elise loves animals greatly and has always been gifted in befriending them.
Feel free to do significantly less, or significantly more. Whatever floats your boat.
Hopefully this kicks off and I get four applicants!

Date: 2017-06-02 03:51 pm (UTC)Dale is serious person who is ambitious on his road to mastery, and though he doesn't admit it, he needs friendship. He is not one to talk about his feelings or try to pry into the feelings of others; instead, he plays the fiddle for himself and for anyone else in need of cheering or for anybody who cares to watch.
(If Dale ends up being used, I can make a reference for his appearance.)
D&D-esque one shot
Date: 2017-06-02 03:51 pm (UTC)This is my character submission:
Cinis Orion is a 17 year old female ranger. She grew up in a militaristic matriarchal village. She has trained her whole life, under her father and uncles to become a great warrior. Her weapon of choice is a bow, mostly because of how stealthily it can be. Over the years she has honed her skill, and is one of the best archers in the village. Her mother is the leader of the village, and when Cinis turned of age (16), her mother decided it was time for her to go forth and learn about the land to make connections with various tribes and other villages. Cinis was going to become queen, eventually, and she had a lot to learn and experience.

Wynne is a human-like species of dragonkin that have adapted over the years to become less abrasive towards humans and embraced their culture while maintaining their individual traits and capabilities (although slightly diminished from a full-blooded dragon). Having studied magic from a young age and only the age of 37, she is one of the youngest trained mages to have mastered many difficult spells and attained knowledge thought lost to humans many years ago.
She tends to come off as mysterious due to her affinity towards wearing cloaks and shadowy clothing, along with her strangely colored blue-green hair and maroon eyes along with a multitude of tattoos and piercings she has to connect her to her dragon heritage. To further add to her mysterious nature, she is often found playing the harp, but in odd dissonant tunes.
When she speaks she is very concise in her words and is calm and rational. A very motivated individual, having been self-trained and an avid reader and explorer of ruins from century-old dragon hoards, she often is too absorbed in herself or the things she finds to interact with others, making her come across as cold and uncaring to most.
Wynne fights with her magic and a dragon-bone whip that allows her to fight at medium and long range, but suffers a lack of muscle and a poor close-combat weapon to fight in short range combat. Furthermore, Wynne has quite the problem around water, and while she may protest, will flee from the smallest splash. Oddly enough, on occasion she can be found spear-fishing in streams near her home (though she will indignantly refuse that she was doing such an uncouth thing if confronted about it)
